Hi!

Smile Tiff, you have several reasons to be happy!
Hey! I am Counselor Tiffany, a brand new school counselor!  I accepted a position as a school counselor for the 2019-2020 school year. I could not be more thrilled with this incredible opportunity.

I want to take this first post to tell you a little bit about myself and my journey to this moment.  I have taught preschool, second grade, fourth grade, and served as a training and curriculum specialist and an elementary school instructional coach. In these various roles, the one thing that remained constant is the need to establish relationships. I fostered relationships with the more challenging students by getting to know them and being a listening ear. I understood early in my career that “ Maslow before Blooms” was the key!

I was nominated by my peers and served as the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year. I was humbled by this honor because it demonstrated my dedication to team building, holding my students to high expectations both academically and socially, thus realize their fullest potential. My passion for mentoring students and teachers has been the catalyst for my desire to obtain my Masters in School Counseling.

A quote that best describes me as an educator is “Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connections and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” by Rita Pierson. During my years as an educator, I focused on building relationships with my students to ensure that they knew they had someone who will be a champion for them. I am an advocate and support system for my students and their families.

Now that I have shared a little about me, I look forward to sharing my triumphs and missteps during this journey.
